Ikuyo Sakamoto lives with a hundred of other patients in a center for mentally disabled in Shobu Gakuen. For more than ten years, the local artistic workshop has been focusing on textile techniques, such as weaving, sewing and embroidery. Ikuyo Sakamoto belongs to a group which sews shirts for sale. Her free production is represented by embroidery characterized by proliferous organic forms, composed of numerous threads crossing each other. She is always deeply concentrated and works so zealously that one day she sewed the embroidery frame to the embroidery.
