Annabel has a chaotic childhood because of a highly conflictual divorce of her parents.
From 1983, Annabel lives permanently with her mother, who devotes all her time and energy to make this child who does not speak use other form of expression.
Mother and daughter live together in Toulouse, without any institutional support from the moment Annabel became twenty.
At a very young age Annabel showed creativity, seizing the most diverse materials and tools, which she mastered with exceptional control : clay, wool, paper, tissues, pencils, brushes, glue... Anything she could get hold of was used with enthousiasm, for ceaseless creation.
Her wool sculptures are of surprising dexterity. We cannot only look at them : one has to put one’s hands into the maze of tunnels inside the wool to discover objects buried in the labyrinth (smaller wool sculptures, fragments of dolls etc.).
The "other" language Annabel speaks consists of images similar to those that surprise us when we dream. She can thus express in a unique creative process what she cannot share with others through speech.
