Ike has been obsessed with the seventies. His taste in music and the style of this period correspond with the beginning of his confinement to the psychiatric hospital, when he was seventeen years old.
Ike Morgan paints every day, working at two or three pieces at a time so that the paint can dry before he applies a second layer.
His first theme was the president George Washington from the dollar bill. Then he became interested in Mona Lisa whom he saw in a book in the hospital. He paints these subjects over and over experimenting with different materials and techniques. Occassionaly he will slip in a new subject he is interested in such as birds, Xena Warrior Princess or George Bush.
After a few decades he has been allowed to live outside the hospital with a roommate.
