Michele Kunard worked in Creativity Explored’s studios from 1987 to 2006.
Kunard’s loose, emotive paintings and drawings reflected her background in theater and dance. When painting figures she typically enlarged the head and facial features to emphasize the expressive nature of the subject. Kunard used a variety of drawing, painting, and sculptural media in typically saturated colors. From celebrities, to masks, to political figures, Kunard’s choice of subject matter always tended to be dramatic and entertaining. According to Kunard, she enjoyed expressing herself through visual art in the same way she expressed herself through theater and dance.
