Born 1901 - ITALY. Died 1986 - FRANCE.
An artist of Italian origin, Jules Godi lived near Draguignan, where he worked as a mason. Apart from his job he performed divination, a technique based on the detection of radiation emitted from the body. Known for his abilities, people came to see him to look for those reported missing or detect subterrenean expanses of water. Even if nothing seems to link his artistic production with divination, Jules Godi succeeded in establishing a connection between the two. By means of his pendulum he marked on a sheet of paper points corresponding to certain astral configurations, which he linked together to create geometrical figures. The occult forces directing his hand determined also the color composition. The harmony of colors and the apparent coherence of Godi’s triangular designs bring about a a division of the sheet.
