Born 1931 in Piwniczna - POLAND.
Kazimierz Cycon was born in a peasant family and attended elementary school only for few years. His first mental troubles appeared when he was twenty-one : constant agitation, anorexia, and gradual isolation. His family left him adrift and did not seem to worry about him. He chose to sleep in the attic, became increasingly aggresive and required hospitalization. He retreated into himself, not wanting any contact with the outside world. At the age of forty-two, he started drawing, first using pencils, then gouache. The image of a face with very large eyes is a recurrent theme in his work.
