Anne Connolly was born in 1951 and has been an artist at Creativity Explored since 1987. She is a painter and printmaker who typically creates energetic abstractions using bright complementary colors.
Connolly’s distinctive style features bold, forceful brushstrokes that create overlapping layers of paint. The interaction between these layers produce interesting results: when opaque, one layer obscures the one underneath. When Connolly dilutes the paint, the layers combine, producing new colors at their intersection. These dynamic compositions give Connolly’s work great depth. In 2011, CB2, one of our Community Arts Partners, chose her piece "Color Field" as the basis for a rug design.
